Totum Apprentice Card
Apprentices cannot apply for student cards, but can purchase the equivalent Totum Apprentice Card, for a wide range of discounts, here: https://app.totum.com/register/join. When purchasing the card, learners will get two options for verifying their course; Lifetime does not provide a code, so it is very important to select "verify with document". For this, learners can use a screen capture of their enrolment confirmation e-mail, apprentice agreement, training plan or Aptem dashboard - just ensure that, whichever they choose, it clearly shows the learner's name, Lifetime's name and the enrolment date.
Oyster Card
Learners who are 18 or over, live in a London borough and are in the first year of an apprenticeship, can get discounted travel with an Oyster photocard. The information needed to apply is:-
- Unique Learner Number (ULN)
- UK Provider Reference Number (UKPRN). Lifetime's UKPRN is 10003915 (unless a learner is on an IT Skills Management course then it is 10042241).
Applications can be made here: https://tfl.gov.uk/fares/free-and-discounted-travel/apprentice-oyster-photocard. The Oyster card is managed by TFL (Transport for London) rather than Lifetime. In the event of having any issues, people can get in touch with them here: https://tfl.gov.uk/help-and-contact/
Railcard
The 16-25 Railcard is available for all 16-25 year olds, and can save a third on rail travel. However, apprentices do not qualify as students for the Mature Student version of the card. To check the qualifying criteria and apply, visit www.16-25railcard.co.uk.
Association of Apprentices
The Association of Apprentices (AOA) works with UK apprentices & organisations to enhance the apprentice experience. By maximising potential & providing a community of likeminded peers, they improve the pathway to completion. Learners can sign up here: https://associationofapprentices.org.uk/subscribe/apprentice-membership/. Please note Lifetime doesn't process this and cannot provide you your AOA membership number; you can contact them direct for this at hello@associationofapprentices.org.uk.
